  1. to bloodlet, to phlebotomize
  2. (figurative, often in the passive) to cause to severely bleed some resource
    Om andra betalar bättre så riskerar klubben att åderlåtas på sina bästa spelare
    If others provide better pay, the club risks "being bled of" their best players
