Wierre-Effroy (French pronunciation: [wjɛʁ efʁwa]) is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France.[3]

Geography

Wierre-Effroy is situated some 8 miles (13 km) northeast of Boulogne, at the junction of the D232 and D234 roads.

Places of interest

  • The church of St.Pierre, dating from the twelfth century.
  • The church of St.Laurent at the hamlet of Hesdres, dating from the twelfth century.
  • A sixteenth-century fortified manorhouse.
