Three Points is an unincorporated community in Travis County, in the U.S. state of Texas.[1] It is located within the Greater Austin metropolitan area.
History
Three Points was originally known as a three-way intersection where Farm Road 1825 and U.S. Highway 81 met before Interstate 35 was built. On county highway maps from the 1940s, the town was indicated by a business and a few dispersed residences. Highway 81 was realigned to follow the interstate after it was finished in the late 1950s, skipping Three Points by less than half a mile. However, because the community was on the road from Pflugerville to the interstate, several businesses in the region continued to prosper through the 1980s. The Three Points community, which was still included on county highway maps in 2000, continued to see commercial and residential growth. There were no population projections available.[2]
