The Journal of Asian Studies, the flagship journal of the Association for Asian Studies, is the most authoritative and prestigious peer-reviewed academic journal in the field of Asian studies.[1] With an acceptance rate of approximately 6%, it upholds rigorous standards in the evaluation and publication of scholarly research.[2] Each issue of the Journal of Asian Studies circulates over 8,200 copies, reaching a readership across the academic community and beyond.[3]
The journal was established in 1941 as The Far Eastern Quarterly, changing to its current title in September 1956. In addition to research, current interest, and state-of-the-field articles, a large section of the journal is devoted to book reviews.[5]
