Tanya Lapointe is a Canadian filmmaker and former journalist, most noted for her 2020 documentary film The Paper Man (Lafortune en papier).[1]

Tanya Lapointe was a longtime arts and culture journalist for Ici Radio-Canada,[2] she took a leave of absence from the network in 2015 to work as a production assistant on Denis Villeneuve's film Arrival, and subsequently announced her departure from journalism in 2016.[3]

In 2018, Radio-Canada aired her first documentary, 50/50, which looked at the disparity between men and women in society.[4] In 2020, The Paper Man had its world premiere at the Whistler Film Festival, where it took up the audience prize.[5]

Tanya Lapointe participated in the Le Combat des livres 2021 event, promoting Le totem des Baranda by Melchior Mbonimpa.[6]

Tanya Lapointe is married to director Denis Villeneuve. The two started dating in the middle of the decade.[7]
