Queen of Tears (Korean: 눈물의 여왕) is an upcoming South Korean television series written by Park Ji-eun, directed by Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won, and starring Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won. The series depicts the story of a married couple in a crisis. It is scheduled to premiere on tvN in March 2024, and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 21:20 (KST).[2][3][4]

A story of the arrogant queen and a man who held the wedding of the century three years later.

Main

Hae-in's husband who is legal director of Queens Group. He is a lawyer who graduated from prestigious university who was born in Yongdu-ri, a rural area.
Director of Queens Department Store who is a third generation chaebol and daughter of the Queens Group family.
A former Wall Street analyst and M&A expert. He is also a famous investor who returns to Korea and begins to form a relationship with the Queens family.
Hae-in's younger brother who is CEO of Queens Mart.
Soo-cheol's beautiful wife with elegant and luxurious visuals, polite attitude, and erudite charm.

The role of Hong Hae-in was first offered to Lee Ji-eun.[13]

On December 5, 2022, Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won announced as the main cast of the series.[14]

Filming began in the first half of 2023.[2]

The full script reading was conducted on March 30, near Sangam-dong, Mapo District, Seoul.[15]

On December 7, 2023, it was announced that the budget of the series costed ₩40 billion in total (₩2.5 billion per episodes).[16]

Release

Originally, it was scheduled to be broadcast in December 2023 but was moved to the first half of 2024 due to the changes in tvN's Saturday–Sunday lineup.[17]

According to Metro Seoul article, Queen of Tears is scheduled to air in March 2024.[4]
