Martyrs' Day (simplified Chinese: 烈士纪念 日; traditional Chinese: 烈士紀念日) is celebrated in China on September 30, the eve of the National Day of the People's Republic of China, to commemorate those who lost their lives serving China. It was created by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in 2014.[1] Each Martrys' Day, a national memorial ceremony is held on the Tiananmen Square in Beijing where members from the Politoburo of the Chinese Communist Party lay wreaths to the Monument to the People's Heroes.
