HBz are a German DJ and producer duo consisting of Nils Schedler and Niklas Brüsewitz.[1] The duo are known for the single "King Kong" and the remix of the song "Lebenslang"
History
Schedler and Brüsewitz knew each other since kindergarten. At the end of 2009, they produced their first track, and since 2011, they have been DJing at events.[2] They have produced over 800 remixes.
Before their breakthrough hit "Deine Augen" in 2020, they were able to achieve initial success with remixes and original songs released on YouTube. Their videos have been viewed more than half a billion times on the platform.[3] They achieved their first chart placement and biggest breakthrough with the single "King Kong", released in 2021, which entered the German singles charts on 18 June 2021. It stayed on the charts for a total of 22 weeks, peaking at position 31.[4] In 2022, the song was certified gold. HBz have received gold records for the 2020 single "Deine Augen", and platinum records[5] for a 2022 single, a remix of the song "Lebenslang" with the German Rapper Tream.
Appearances
A notable performance for the group was the Winterbeats Festival 2020, at the Saturn Arena in Ingolstadt, in which they were voted best act.[6] They also performed at Festivals like the Lollapalooza in Berlin, Parookaville, Sputnik Spring Break, SonneMondSterne, Electrisize or OpenBeatz.
