Dhaka First Division Football League was the second tier football league in Bangladesh which was administered by the Bangladesh Football Federation. In 2007, with the introduction of Bangladesh's first professional national football league, the Bangladesh Premier League (B.League), the First Division League was merged to the Dhaka Premier Division League (Dhaka League), which was re-introduced as the new second-tier, the Dhaka Senior Division Football League (currently the 3rd-tier).[1][2]

Name

Before 1993, the term Dhaka First Division Football League was used to refer to the top-tier, Dhaka League. Dhaka's top-tier football league before 1993, was also referred to as the Senior Division Football League (current name) or simply as the Dhaka League. Following the introduction of a Premier Division Football League a First Division Football League would serve as the second-tier.
