"Dengan Menyebut Nama Allah" on YouTube |
"Dengan Menyebut Nama Allah" (English: "In the Name of Allah" or "Saying the Name of Allah") is a song recorded by Indonesian songwriter and record producer Dwiki Dharmawan, featuring vocals by Novia Kolopaking. Taken from Dharmawan's first special album of the same name, it was written by its producers Ags. Arya Dipayana (credited until 2017) and Dharmawan. Considered as Kolopaking's signature song, the song was released as the lead single of the album in 1992, through Musica Studios. It is primarily an Islamic song with keyboards and "choir"-led refrain in which reflects the Ramadan vibe, while the lyrics hint towards someone themselves to do the better ways.
Since its release, Kolopaking has performed "Dengan Menyebut Nama Allah" for all of her headlining concert tours. In 1995, an altered version was recorded for use in the film Sesal, written and directed by Sophan Sophiaan. It also had covered by many artists, in their different renditions, including Ita Purnamasari. An accompanying music video for the song was uploaded onto Musica Studios' YouTube channel in 2013.
Composition

Musically, it is an Islamic song featuring dominant keyboards, "choir"-led refrain and "aesthetic" key modulation,[1] with lyrics vividly unravel themselves to do better things with better ways.[1] Kolopaking's vocal range spans from G♯3 to B♭4.
