Dawn is an American drag performer competing on season 16 of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Career

Dawn is a drag performer. She has described herself as an "ethereal elf goddess of Brooklyn".[2] She is competing on season 16 of RuPaul's Drag Race. On the first episode, she lip-sync to an original track.[3][4] The judges appreciated Dawn's "kookiness" and compared her to Lucille Ball.[5] Tomás Mier of Rolling Stone called her "out of left field in all the right ways" and said she presented some of the premiere's best looks.[2]

Personal life

Dawn was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, but is based in Brooklyn.[6][7] She has said Sasha Velour is an inspiration and her favorite Drag Race winner.[8][9] Dawn is also inspired by fashion designer Betsey Johnson.[10] She is a fan of Taylor Swift, and "Toxic" by Britney Spears is among her favorite performance tracks.[11]
