Daniel Innerarity Grau (born 1959 in Bilbao) is a Spanish philosopher and essayist.

Daniel Innerarity

Daniel Innerarity (1959) is a professor of political and social philosophy, Ikerbasque researcher at the University of the Basque Country, director of the Instituto de Gobernanza Democrática and Chair Artificial Intelligence and Democracy at the School of Trasnational Governance (European University Institute of Florence). Former fellow of the Fundación Alexander von Humboldt at the University of Munich, visiting professor at the University of Paris 1-Sorbonne former Chair of Intercultural Studies at Georgetown University, distinguished Visiting Chair at the Catholic University of Lisbon, visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Heidelberg and visiting fellow in the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is currently Directeur d'Études Associé de la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme (Paris). He has been professor in the Department of Philosophy of the University of Zaragoza (Spain).

He was awarded the III Miguel de Unamuno Essay Prize, the 2003 National Literature Prize in the Essay category, the 2004 Espasa Essay Prize and the 2012 Euskadi Essay Prize in 2008 . He has also received the Prize for Humanities, Culture, Arts and Social Sciences from the Basque Studies Society/Eusko Ikaskuntza in 2008, the Príncipe de Viana Culture Prize 2013 and National Research Prize for Human Sciences 2022.
