Classic 263, formerly Radio 1, and later Spot FM/SFM, is a Zimbabwean talk radio station that is owned by the country's national broadcaster. It broadcasts mainly in English, in addition to Ndebele and Shona.
History
Originally established to cater to the white community residing in urban and farming regions of Zimbabwe, Classic 263 has undergone significant transformations. Initially stationed in Bulawayo, it has now relocated to the capital, Harare. In 2001, the station underwent a name change from Radio 1 to Spot FM, abbreviated as SFM.
Specializing in talk shows encompassing politics, current affairs, and sports, Classic 263 also features a diverse music selection tailored for the mature audience of urban Zimbabwe. The station has adopted the current slogan, "Now we are talking," reflecting its commitment to engaging and informative content.
