Christopher Storer (born 1981) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer.[1][2] He became widely known as the creator, co-showrunner, writer, and director of the comedy-drama series The Bear (2022–present), for which he has received accolades such as three Emmy Award nominations.
Early life
Storer was born in 1981 and grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois. It was here that he met Chris Zucchero, the owner of Mr. Beef, the sandwich shop which became the basis for The Bear.[3] His sister Courtney is a professional chef who serves as a culinary supervisor on the series.[4]
Career
Before he achieved widespread recognition for The Bear, Storer's previous work included directing and/or producing Bo Burnham's comedy specials what. (2013) and Make Happy (2016), directing Hasan Minhaj's comedy special Homecoming King (2017), producing Burnham's debut film Eighth Grade (2018), and directing and producing some episodes of the comedy-drama series Ramy (2019–2020).
Personal life
Storer is in a relationship with actress Gillian Jacobs, who guest starred in season two of The Bear.[5]
