Any Old Port! is an American 1932 pre-Code comedy short film directed by James W. Horne and starring Laurel and Hardy. It was produced by Hal Roach.

Plot

Sailors Laurel and Hardy disembark in a seaside town and take a room at a cheap hotel. The rough and intimidating owner Mugsy Long intends to marry a young girl – the hotel's maid – against her wishes, and locks her in a closet. Stan and Ollie decide to intervene but Mugsy is so tough that billiard balls thrown at his head bounce off with no effect, and they change their minds. When a judge arrives to perform the wedding, Stan manages to grab the closet key and a chase ensues, during which Stan unlocks the closet and the girl escapes. Laurel tricks Mugsy into jumping from a nearby dock by throwing a different key into the water, and Mugsy swears vengeance. After fleeing, the boys find out they've left their money back in the hotel room, but an old pal of Ollie's offers $50 if Ollie will fight in a boxing ring that night. Ollie agrees, but predictably makes Stan the fighter and himself the manager.

Stan enters the ring and discovers that his opponent is Mugsy Long. Knowing how tough Mugsy is, Ollie makes a seemingly wise bet with a drunk that Mugsy will win. Mugsy is enraged at seeing Stan again, and loads his glove with metal before the fight begins. During the course of the fight, however, Mugsy and Stan accidentally switch gloves, causing Mugsy to comically run away from Stan knowing that Stan now has the loaded glove. Stan, realizing the glove is loaded and that he has the advantage, chases Mugsy around the ring. Stan wins the fight when Mugsy tries to pull the loaded glove off Stan's hand and winds up knocking himself out. Mugsy's second calls a policeman and tells him Stan had been fighting with a loaded glove. Ollie gives the drunk the money they received for entering the fight, and explains to Stan, "I bet on you to lose and you double-crossed me!" Stan, incensed that his own buddy and manager bet against him, draws his fist back to punch Ollie, and accidentally knocks out the policeman investigating the loaded glove. Stan and Ollie flee the arena in terror.
