Following its reconstitution under the Local Government Act 1972, elections were held for Lancashire County Council on 12 April 1973. All 94 wards were up for election and all wards returned one councillor by FPTP, with the exception of Preston No. 1 and Preston No. 4, which returned two councillors each by plurality block voting.
