Who am I?

Hello, my name is Jason Carneiro, and Electronics and cars are my passion! I started tinkering around with my very first electronics when I was just 10 years old, and since then I haven't been able to stop my curiosity in discovering how things work and how to fix them. Of course, when I was old enough to own my first car, that became the center of my curiosity. Now, many years after discovering my passion for DIY repairs, I can hopefully help others who need guidance, all while still fueling my desire to learn from others as well!

Education

I'm currently a student at York University pursuing a major in Information Technology as well as a minor in Business. These two fields aligned so well with my skill set and interests that it only felt right to head down this path to grow my knowledge.

Repair Experience

I always keep myself busy with new projects and occasionally dip into things outside my range of expertise. However, The repair that I was the proudest of was most definitely my old 3DS and DSi XL, as it was my first time tinkering with such small electronics and learning how to put them back together properly. They were both completely snapped in half and I had to start from scratch when deciding how to repair them. I bought all the necessary parts, and I even watched some iFixit guides in order to get a general idea of what to do for each necessary part. Eventually, after a long day and night of continuously tinkering with everything, I was able to get both of them in working order and bring back some much-needed nostalgia! Although I have admittedly worked on much larger-scale projects, such as building a whole hardline liquid-cooled PC from scratch, nothing gave me as much satisfaction as seeing my old handheld console from my childhood finally turn on again.

Since then I have worked on various other small electronics like cell phones, tablets, household electronics, and even larger projects such as motherboards, laptops, PCs, and even cars. Although I am still learning quite a lot from repairing items around and in my car, I'm looking forward to learning at my own pace and passing that knowledge on to others.

Fun Fact

I currently share my home with two other furry tenants, my cats Niko and Stella. I absolutely adore them and couldn't have asked for any better companions at home.

Here is a picture of them!
