Hello! My name is Michelle Bianco and I am a Computer Science Undergraduate student at the University of North Texas. I am a married mom of two amazing teenagers. My son is 19 and my daughter is 16.
Growing up with an aerospace engineer as a mother exposed me to technology my entire life. I remember playing the games she programmed for me on our TI-99/4A. I watched her connect to the internet for the first time with a tape player and phone to connecting through just a phone line. I will never forget the sound it would make as it connected. I have been tech-savvy for as long as I can remember.
Along with technology, I have rebuilt the engine in my 1969 Chevy Nova, fixed my pool filter, replaced the faucet for my kitchen sink, built my son a computer, and many more things. I can learn to fix anything and I'm really excited to explore iFixit for more things to fix.
I graduated from Collin County Community College with an associate's degree in computer science in 2021. My goal is to obtain a master's degree and, in my spare time, create a charting program or system for nurses and first responders that is quicker and easier. In my experiences working with nurses during nursing school, I noticed they spent a considerable portion of their shift charting for each patient, sometimes staying past their shift to complete patient charts. All of those nurses worked off the clock. I aim to change that.
