Hello, my name is Paula Lewis.

I am currently attending the University of North Texas to earn a Master's degree in Technical Communications

I have always had a creative side, and I was able to foster that creativity through teaching high school Yearbook and Journalism. After teaching high school for five years, I got my first master’s degree in English and began teaching college. While working at the college level for the past three years, I realized that English education needs to adapt to the STEM field students and the Humanities simultaneously. I decided to begin studying Technical Writing.

Through Technical Writing I can combine all my passions of English, writing, Journalism, and Yearbook to design and create technical deliverables. I would like to utilize my teaching and technical writing abilities and become a general Technical Writer or Instructional Designer as well as teach Technical Writing at the college level.

Fixing Experience:

As far as fixing things, growing up I worked with my father in the garage or at his job because he worked so much. I wanted to spend time with him, so he taught me about fixing cars, repairing and building computers, painting, laying tile, building on an addition to a house, electrical work, and landscaping. My love for fixing things was fostered through the love of my father.

Skills:

  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Hobbies:

In my spare time, I like to read, watch sports, go to concerts and plays, and play with my German Shepherd puppy, Daisy.
