Introduction

Hi there! My name is Pietro Coso, and I am a junior at Purdue Northwest!

Education & Professional Experience

I’m currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Beyond that, I’ve been interning in a Manufacturing company for almost a year, where I’ve designed over 400 new parts and created 2 manufacturing standards!

Dreams and Goals

I’m originally from Brazil, and I moved to the United States 3 years ago, at 17. My dream, when I was a kid, was to dream a firefighter, and since then, my dream has evolved into becoming a fire protection designer/engineer!

I don’t plan on pursuing a Master’s in any engineering application right now, but in the future, I plan on pursuing an MBA!

I was inspired to become a fire protection engineer because of my father, who worked in the field for many years and taught fire protection classes at Texas A&M!

Projects

One of the projects I’m most proud of was done at school, for my Engineering Drawing class: we used a 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create a diesel engine cylinder! It was really cool to be able to organize this project and develop the parts.

This is the finalized 3D CAD model of our engine, before rendering!

Repair Experience

I don’t have much repair experience, but I’m here to learn! I think of this is as a challenge to myself to learn new things and learn to enjoy fixing them!
The only big project I’ve ever built was my home desktop computer, shown below:

Hobbies

When I’m not stressing about thermodynamics or finishing that paper that’s due in two days, I love playing video games (on the computer I built), hiking, and travelling! I’ve been to 4 continents, and within the United States, I’ve visited 14 states!

One of my favorite places that I visited within the U.S. has to be the Smoky Mountains (where my profile picture comes from), definitely breaks the monotone terrain of Northwest Indiana!
