Introduction

In every tablet, the screen is the most vulnerable component of the device and is prone to damage. If the screen on your tablet is cracked or if the images aren’t properly showing up on your screen, then the screen needs to be replaced.

    • Using a plastic opening tool, slowly pry along the seam running along the edge of the device until the back case snaps free.

    • Remove the back case.

Add caution or some other bullets and say “you need to pull hard on the lid“.

    • Once you remove the backing of the Verizon Ellipsis 8, gently use the spudger to lift one side of the tape. Once you have lifted the tape, slowly remove it until it is completely off the battery.

There are two sides. Say you are removing only one side.

    • Remove all 5 screws from their respective holes using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • Remove the speaker from the device.

There are only 4 (silver) screws shown. The 5th position circled in the pic at left center is a threaded screw boss from a screw that was already removed. The 5th screw is really hidden behind the ribbon cable coming into the motherboard from the bottom left. To remove it, you need to carefully peel away the metal mesh tape, then pull the two ends of the ribbon from their sockets.

After removing the speaker assembly, you will need to remove the motherboard next to it. (This step omitted by this guide's author.)

To unplug the speaker wires, pry up away from the circuit board at the back of the plug where the wires come into it.

    • Using a guitar pick or a metal spudger, remove the old screen from the device from the back of the tablet.

Several steps are missing here between removing the speaker and removing the screen! This guide is incomplete!

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

This guide is incomplete, with several steps and details omitted.

As it is now, this guide is inadequate for anyone who has never done anything like this before. Yet it's also almost completely unnecessary for anyone with a little experience doing similar repairs.

So, it's of almost no use to anyone!
