Introduction
All musical instruments have to undergo repairs at points throughout their useful life. In this case, broken tuning pegs on a ukulele affect the tuning of the strings and therefore cause its sound to lose accuracy.
This guide describes how to fasten new tuning pegs to the fret board of a ukulele. Skills needed are basic motor skills and ability to use a screwdriver. New tuning pegs can be purchased online or in your local music store.

Place the ukulele on a flat surface.

Completely unwind the string connected to the broken tuning peg by turning the black knob clockwise.

Place the ukulele string in between your index finger and thumb.

Pull the ukulele string from the hole on the tuning peg.

Turn the ukulele over, and note the placement of the screws attaching the tuning pegs to the head of the ukulele.

Using the PH00 screwdriver, turn the first screw counter clockwise to loosen.

Using the PH00 screwdriver, turn the second screw counter clockwise to loosen.

Set the screws aside to use for later.

Place the tuning peg knob in between your thumb and index finger.

Pull the old tuning peg completely off the ukulele.

Have the new tuning peg clean and ready to replace the old tuning peg.

Place the new tuning peg onto the hole in the fret board.

Place one of the screws onto the PH00 screwdriver tip.

Line up the screw to a hole in the tuning peg and tighten by turning the PH00 screwdriver clockwise.

Place the other screw onto the PH00 screwdriver tip.

Line up the screw to the remaining hole and tighten it by turning the PH00 screwdriver clockwise.

Insert the string into the hole of the tuning peg

Continue holding the string, and turn the black knob of the tuning peg counter-clockwise until the string is correctly tuned.
