Introduction

Step by step guide on replacing the internal brush rotation belt. After removing a few screws, you can access the internal components of the motorized brush. After removing the belt, you should exercise care in handling the belt.

    • Remove the brush roller by lifting vertically away from the brush head. It should come out easily along with the belt.

    • Be careful in handling the belt. If stretched or damaged, the belt can cause the motorized brush to operate incorrectly.

What if just the plastic gear is bad? Where can I find a replacement that will slip on and be attached properly. In many of these units that gear cracks with age, add do the end holders for the brush. I'm not sure where to obtain the proper gear, the number of teeth it has, the size of the gear, or the size of the hole. Help would be greatly appreciated as for a Ten cent part , SHARK ridiculously and very unjustly, wants me to buy a whole new unit for $50 plus shipping, but I can buy a brand-new one at Amazon for $48 . Still both are ridiculous for a $0.10 part. I have seen where I can get plastic gears but I am unsure of the size and how to attach it properly. The old one sweat and the motor spins freely inside the gear.

Thank you for this! I needed the picture to put it back together after I cleaned it out because it was not spinning. Working perfectly now! I also have an extra new battery if anyone needs it. :)
