Introduction

Tuning keys are necessary to play a guitar. However, they can sometimes break, especially on old or used guitars. This makes playing the guitar significantly more difficult or, in some cases, impossible. If the tuning keys on your guitar are broken, this guide will help replace them. Specifically, this guide will help you repair and replace tuning keys on an SR 306-12951100 Acoustic Guitar. We will be replacing the old tuning keys with 3x3 plate tuning keys.

This guide assumes you have already removed the strings from the guitar. If you have not, follow Steps 1 and 2 from this guide for instructions.

    • The dimensions of the screws that come with the kit are 31 mm x 35 mm x 27 mm.

    • Do not tighten the screws until all of them are in place. Once all eight screws are in, go back and tighten each one. This is done so that the new tuning keys can be properly aligned.

Hi Michael,

I just bought this exact guitar at an estate sale this past weekend I bought it for my granddaughter to learn how to play the neck has a little bow in it and I was wondering if you knew what size the adjustment screw is and what type head it is.

Thanks!

Dennis
