Introduction
The RYOBI 18V ONE+ Multi-Material Saw is compact and lightweight, making it ideal for working in tight spaces with excellent control. It features depth adjustment and a smooth plunge mechanism for enhanced cutting precision. The saw also includes a dust port and an ergonomic handle for comfortable operation. Suitable for cutting wood, plastic, tile, and non-ferrous metals, it’s a versatile tool for DIY projects.

In this step, I will remove the external components of the device. First, for safety, I removed the battery. Next, I easily detached the exhaust duct. Then, using the hex wrench provided with the device, I was able to remove the saw blade.
-
This is a plastic-cased battery that can be easily removed by pressing the latch buttons on both sides.

Width :78.5mm Depth :120mm Height :79.5mm Weight :425.5g
-
This part is a flange used to secure the saw blade, made of aluminum alloy, which is lightweight and wear-resistant. The diameter is 25mm, with the upper flange weighing 9.8g and the lower flange weighing 13.2g.
-
This is a multi-Material saw blade capable of cutting metal, wood, and stone. The blade is made of steel, with the teeth made from hard metal (HW) that are welded to the steel base using a brazing process. The diameter is 85mm, and the inner hole diameter is 15mm,weighs 36.2g
-
The main function of this exhaust duct is to blow away debris generated by the cutting process using air produced by the motor. It is made of ABS plastic, manufactured using the blow molding process, and weighs 18.3g. It measures 129mm in length, with a large hole diameter of 36mm, a small hole diameter of 15mm, and a thickness of 1mm.

In this step, remove the blade guard by unscrewing the four screws at the bottom of the device.
-
This blade guard is made of A380 aluminum alloy, which is a die-cast material with good corrosion resistance. It weighs 162.5g, measures 127mm in length, 92mm in height, has a base width of 30mm, and a thickness of 3mm.
-
Four carbon steel torx screw with a black oxide finish, each measuring 12mm in length, 8mm in diameter, and weighing 1.3g.
-
-
-
Remove the only cross-head screw at the bottom of the device (carbon steel, 15mm long, 8mm in diameter, weighing 1.4g), and you can then detach the entire base.
-
Carbon steel spring, with a diameter of 18mm and a length of 80mm. Weight: 23.3g.
-
This cold-formed spring is made of high-carbon steel, offering excellent elasticity. It is used to support the main structure of the device. When in use, the user needs to hold down the lock button to compress the spring. Once the user releases the button, the spring will rebound, retracting the blade into the guard to ensure safety.
-
This aluminum Phillips bolt is used both for connecting the device and for pressing the shaft when operating the device. It measures 45mm in length and 9mm in diameter. Weight: 9.5g.
-
This stainless steel locknut has a diameter of 7.5mm and weighs 1g.
-
-
-
To open the outer casing, unscrew the ten carbon steel torx screws on the casing (length: 18mm, diameter: 6.5mm, weight: 1.5g) and the two smaller torx screws (length: 15.5mm, diameter: 5mm, weight: <1g).
-
The outer casing is made of ABS plastic using injection molding, while the soft material on the external handle is TPS-SEBS plastic. The weights are 171.9g and 215.1g, respectively.
-
-
-
After opening the outer casing, you will find that the locking mechanism can be easily removed. First, there is the component next to the power button, which is used to prevent accidental activation.
-
The gray POM plastic part, made by injection molding, measures 45mm in length, 20mm in width, 28.5mm in height, and weighs 7.1g. The white POM plastic part, also made by injection molding, measures 97mm in length, 12.5mm in width, 20mm in height, and weighs 12.7g.
-
There are also two standard carbon steel springs: one measures 17.5mm in length, 4mm in diameter, and weighs <1g, and the other measures 18mm in length, 7.5mm in diameter, and weighs <1g.
-
Next is the blade lock located next to the saw blade, which is used to secure the blade during removal. The two smaller Phillips screws removed in the previous step are used to secure these components.
-
This mechanism consists of a gray ABS plastic part (20mm long, 11mm wide, 15mm high, 2.2g weight), a fluorescent green ABS plastic cover (44mm long, 10mm wide, 2.75mm high, 4g weight), and a black carbon steel plate (42mm long, 13mm wide, 2mm thick, 6g weight).
-
-
-
Remove the four aluminum torx screws connecting the motor and the casing (length: 24mm, diameter: 5.5mm, weight: 1g each).
-
-
-
Remove the two aluminum torx screws, each 15mm long, 4.2mm in diameter, and weighing less than 1g.
-
-
-
The gearbox mainly consists of a PA66-GF50 reinforced polyamide plastic housing, an A2 tool steel casing, and KH alloy steel gears and bearings.
-
The A2 tool steel casing (57mm long, 14mm wide, 40mm high, weighing 94.8g) and the PA66-GF50 reinforced polyamide plastic housing (60mm long, 47mm wide, 46mm high, weighing 81.4g) are connected by three aluminum Torx screws (16mm long, 6mm in diameter, weighing 1g each).
-
"KH alloy steel gear base (30mm in diameter, 17mm in height, weighing 34.1g)"
-
KH alloy steel gear outer ring, machined with milling process (43mm in diameter, 11mm in height, weighing 28.2g)
-
KH alloy steel gear (11mm in diameter, 5.5mm in height, weighing 2.5g)
-
-
-
The switch casing is made of black ABS plastic using injection molding. The two parts are connected by four clips in the middle. Simply prying open the clips will allow you to separate the two halves.
-
-
-
Inside the switch button, there is a carbon steel spring for rebound (25mm long, 5mm in diameter, weighing <1g), a small carbon steel spring for toggling to connect the positive and negative terminals of the power supply (8mm long, 2mm in diameter, weighing <1g), and a copper contact (20mm long, 6mm wide, weighing <1g).
