Remove the hex nut by carefully tapping with finger (if tight use pliers to loosen).
-
Then lift the bell off the screw, revealing the first layer of internals.
-
-
-
Using a 1.5mm flat head screw driver, remove the 3 centre screws, 2 at the base of the stand that was holding the bell and the one at the base of the bell ringer.
-
-
-
Again using the screw driver, remove the three screw located on the side of the exterior metal case.
-
Next by hand or with pliers, rotate both handles/levers protruding from the metal case anti-clock wise to remove.
-
you should be able to remove the case now by sliding it up, be careful when doing so as not to loose internal parts now loose.
-
-
-
next, either with pliers or by hand, remove the three hex nuts on the bottom plate containing the internal mechanisms, by rotating anti-clock wise.
-
-
-
To remove the centre gear, you must first remove the timers face and hand, this can be done either by drilling the rivers on top, or using pliers to bend and pull the face off.
-
begin by removing the three rivets near the edge of the face, then either use pliers or by hand, you should pull the face off the last rivet, and the had with it.
-
once you have removed the face and hand, a small metal rod and brass band covering it should remain,(the metal rod is the top of the gear, being held by the brass band) using a thin metal pin and a mallet, you should be able to knock the rod out of the brass band, setting the centre gear free.
