Introduction
This manual will allow you to disassemble a Mitchell Epic Series E150 fishing reel. In roughly 30 minutes. This reel requires a moderate skill level. Work should be done on a decent sized flat surface. In this guide you will remove the spool cover, the spool, remove the center body, the handle, the drag assembly, the cast controls, the set plate, the rotating assembly, disassemble the center body, and break down the line guide.

Remove the spool from the reel, making sure that the small rubber centrifugal brakes don’t fall off.

Loosen fasteners 4, 5, and 6 with a flat blade screwdriver.

Separate the center body of the reel from the handle plate.

Remove screw 9 holding in the retaining cap.

Remove retaining clip r1 with a flat blade screwdriver

Note: It is very easy to accidentally lose this retaining clip, be sure to hold the clip while prying with your flat blade screwdriver

Remove washer ,w1, under retaining clip r1.

Remove handle retaining nut, n1, using a small adjustable wrench.

Remove handle.

Remove handle spring washer, w2.

Remove star drag assembly, STA, by turning it counter clockwise while holding. the shaft it’s sitting on.(You can use the adjustable wrench to hold the square. part. of the shaft.)

Remove main shaft bearing, MSB, drag pressure insert, DPI, drag washers, dw1, dw2, and drag spring washer, dsw.

Remove crankshaft assembly, CSA, and reverse lockout claw, RLC.

Slowly remove thumb latch, TL, to avoid losing the return spring.

Remove washers, w3,w4.

Remove screw, 10, holding down latch keeper.

Remove drag pressure plate, DPP, from crankshaft assembly.
-
Remove main gear, MG from crankshaft assembly.

Remove line guide cap, LGC, with a flat blade screwdriver.

Remove line guide retainer, LGR.
-
Remove line guide gear retainer, LGGR, by pushing it off with a flat blade screwdriver.

Remove line guide bushing, LGB.
-
Remove line guide shaft, LGS, by pushing on the side that the line guide bushing was removed from.

To reassemble your fishing reel, follow these instructions in reverse order.
