Introduction

During prolonged or heavy use, a snap can come off and get lost. Not to worry – a worn-out or defective snap on your rain pants a can easily be replaced. Replacement snaps often come with the product in a small bag. If you don’t have a replacement snap, you can pick one up in a fabric supplies store – they come in several shapes and sizes and fit almost anywhere.     • You’ll need a hammer, a snap tool and replacement snap fasteners (2 pieces for each side).

    • Tip: In this example we used a set of Prym snaps which are widely available in German stores.

  2. Position the top of the snap on the front side of your fabric from above and the stud piece on the bottom, press them together with the snap tool and tap them firmly several times with a hammer.

  3. Position the socket side on the front of your bottom fabric and place the back side of the socket piece on the back, press them together with the snap tool and tap them firmly several times with a hammer.
