Tools
-
-
Put your belt on.
-
Using a ruler or measuring tape, measure how much of the belt you want to remove. Make this mark on the buckle end of the belt.
-
Place a mark where you will cut the belt to shorten it.
-
-
-
Measure how much of the belt is folded over the belt. Add that length to the cut mark to leave enough material to fold over the buckle.
-
Using a screwdriver, remove all screws from the buckle end of the belt.
-
-
-
Using scissors, cut on the exact spot of your new mark.
-
You can round the edges of the cut to make the belt tip look neat.
-
-
-
Place your belt on a workspace that can be nailed into.
-
Place a nail on the new spot where you'd like to add a hole.
-
Hammer the nail until it goes all the way through the belt.
-
-
-
Try on the belt and see if it fits comfortably.
-
If not, follow this guide again to add more holes.
