Introduction

If you have a lace frontal or lace closure wig that needs to be freshened up due to lace adhesive and excessive product in the hair, follow these simple steps.

    • Place your wig on the mannequin head and gently comb out the tangles starting from the ends all the way to the root before beginning the process.

    • Fill a large bowl with warm to hot water.

    • Add dish soap to create the soapy water to clean the residue out of the lace.

    • Place ONLY the lace frontal portion of the unit into the soap water.

    • Allow it to soak for about 10-15 minutes.

    • After 10-15 minutes of soaking, there should be a distinct area where the adhesive residue is cleaned.

    • It will show up as a much lighter color and that indicates this is the residue that needs to be cleaned out of the lace.

    • Use a clean towel to gently rub the adhesive towards the edge of the lace to completely remove the adhesive.

    • After thoroughly rubbing the adhesive away, the lace should be completely clean of any residue and the wig unit is ready to be shampooed and conditioned.

    • Massage shampoo thoroughly through the entire unit.

    • Massage the conditioner into the ends of the unit and continue up throughout the unit up to the root.

    • Use a wide tooth comb or shower hair brush to distribute product evenly through the unit.

    • Use a heat protectant and blow dry or place the unit on a mannequin head to air dry.
