Introduction
It is not uncommon to have minor holes in your drywall from kids, accidents, or simple wear and tear. This guide will help you fix those holes and make your wall look brand-new!
In the guide, you will go through the steps of drilling, filling, and painting a small hole in your damaged drywall.
Tools
-
-
If the initial hole is smaller than a quarter, use a screwdriver to carefully make the hole larger. This will allow the patching plaster to fill better.
-
Place painter's tape around the hole so the plaster does not get onto places it does not belong.
-
-
-
Dip the chisel scraper into the patching plaster, and begin to fill the hole. Use a gentle pressing motion to fill. Press multiple layers of the plaster until the entire hole is filled.
-
Let the wall dry for at least three hours.
-
-
-
After the filling is fully dry, take a damp sponge and gently remove any access plaster from the wall. First, start with the surface surrounding the hole.
-
After the wall is clean of excess plaster, carefully wipe the plaster from inside the wall until it is even with the original surface.
-
-
-
Remove the painters tape from the wall.
-
Dip the paint sponge in paint, and paint the wall with the original color of the wall.
-
Let it dry accordingly.
-
Hopefully you found this guide easy and helpful for fixing any minor dents in your drywall. Good luck!

Great guide to fixing plasterboard. I normally just try to fit a scrap piece of plasterboard in the hole when fixing it, but using cardboard is a much easier and better idea. I can cut it with scissors and won't have to make the whole bigger to screw the piece of drywall in. If you need help with drywall repair in your home visit: https://www.plasterroanoke.com
