Introduction
If your carpet has an unseemly stain, hole, or burn, use this guide to replace the section without the unnecessary fuss and expense of replacing the entire carpet.
Before beginning the fix, make sure the carpet and the sample piece are clean. Some homes have extra matching carpet leftover; however, carpet can always be purchased at a home improvement store.
Tools
Parts
-
-
Flip sample carpet onto its back and place down on a stable surface.
-
Place the can onto the sample carpet.
-
Trace the shape of the can with a marker.
-
-
-
Remove the can from the sample carpet.
-
Cut out the shape from the sample carpet using scissors.
-
-
-
Place the glue side of the carpet down into the hole.
-
Press down firmly on the carpet with your hand.
-
Once the glue has dried the carpet can be walked on or vacuumed. By cutting the longer carpet fibers the replacement patch should seamlessly blend in with the original carpet.

Very good. I suppose if you don't have same carpet you can match as close as possible with a new piece.
