The aim of this guide is to address a common issue: when the needle gets stuck in the fabric during sewing. This problem occurs more frequently than one might expect, particularly when working with thin fabrics that challenge the needle's strength. This guide offers step-by-step instructions to help you address and resolve this issue specifically for your Janome 3160QDC sewing machine.

If the needle gets stuck while sewing a stitch, stop sewing.

Turn the knob on the side of your machine to manually lift the needle out of the fabric.

Once the needle is out of the fabric, use the block lever to life the plastic foot press from the fabric as well.

Once plastic foot press is lifted from the fabric pull the fabric away from the machine and cut the thread.

Open the bobbin holder and remove the bobbin making sure to also remove the thread from the machine.

using the metal knob on the right side of the needle, unscrew and remove the needle. Once the needle has been removed inspect it for damages. If there is no damage reinsert the same needle. If there are damages replace the needle.

Once the needle is back in the sewing machine, thread it and thread the bobbin. From here you are able to begin sewing again.
