Introduction
Many retail stores have a "no return policy" when it comes to bathing suits. If you find yourself in a situation where you purchased a bikini bottom and it doesn't fit perfectly, but you can't return it, this guide will help. Luckily, this issue can be fixed easily and you will be able to show off and enjoy yourself at the pool in no time.
Once you're finished with the repair you will have a new style bikini bottom that you can adjust to whatever size you choose.
Tools
-
-
Use a tape measure to determine the amount of side seam you want to remove so that both sides are the same.
-
Use sewing scissors to cut 25.4 mm from each side at the seam.
-
-
-
Pick an elastic and measure around half a meter or 19 inches.
-
Cut the elastic in two halves, the long way.
-
-
-
To begin, sew the elastic directly to the bikini on the interior of the suit at all four sides with the the loose ends facing out.
-
-
-
To create a ruched look for the bikini and to finish the seam where you've sewn the elastic onto the fabric, sew between the middle of the fabric.
-
Repeat this step four times on each side of the bikini, two on the right and two on the left.
-
If by the end of this guide your swimsuit is not yet of your liking you can add more elastic to your bikini or choose another style.
I don't understand why you are removing so much material from the bikini. Your procedure actually makes the bikini smaller but adjustable to a larger size. Why not just cut the bikini on the sides and then add the straps. Thank you
