Does your book have a broken spine and you don't want to spend money on a new copy? Learn how to fix the book's spine yourself in these easy-to-do instructions!

    • First, grab the book you would like to fix.

    • Then, open the book to where you have the most access to the exposed inner spine.

    • Shake up the glue before removing the cap.

    • Then, test glue on a piece of paper before placing it on the spine of the book. It should be about the consistency of Elmer's glue.

    • Place the glue along the spine opposite of the cover. Make sure you are distributing glue evenly.

    • You may also choose to use a paint brush to make sure area is completely covered with glue.

    • Glue is runny; use with caution.

    • After placing the glue, wrap the cover tightly around the book.

    • Firmly drag your fingers down the spine of the book to avoid any air pockets.

    • Remove any excess glue with a tissue.

    • For the demonstration we held the book as shown. You may also choose to place something on top of the book, such as a paperweight or another book, and let it sit for 30 to 40 minutes.

    • After the glue is dry, you should be able to lightly tug on the pages without any movement.

    • If movement occurs then allow the glue an additional 10 to 15 minutes to dry. Once dry, you've completed your book repair.
