Introduction

Garmin says that "The band on this watch is not replaceable". In this guide, I set out to prove them wrong as I don't want to throw away or recycle a perfectly good working watch.

  1. HQNPvyYCWnwBSXPC
    • This is my Garmin Vivosmart HR+. As you can see in the photo, the band is broken and also just generally worn out. Band replacements for this watch can be found easily online, and the replacement is fairly easy.

  2. CQEInZQHwJwnlYD1
    • The band is held on using 4 T5 Torx screws, two on each end of the watch. All the screws are the same size.

    • Remove these screws and set them aside to attach the new band later.

  3. 4AYWYqCPMAihdQcT
    • There isn't anything special about removing the band here: just lightly pull it away from the watch.

  4. yUlaRhrAkDwIOenS
    • This is roughly the same as the last step, but you need to avoid the button. I used a plastic opening pick to lift the band over the button, but you could probably achieve similar results with a small flat-head screwdriver.

    • Take extra care to not rip out the button with the band.

    • If you want, now is a good time to clean the watch under the band (mine was quite dirty from 2-3 years of exposure to dirt and dust.

  5. UW6SIKJrqImwubgu
    • This is a very easy step, just carefully slide the band onto the watch, minding the screw position and the button.

  6. pQbiM6YlKBStFeoL
    • Install the 4 T5 torx screws from earlier to secure the watchband.

Conclusion

Congratulations! You have now successfully proved Garmin support wrong about the watchband of your vívosmart HR+!
