Introduction
Recurve bows are a type of traditional bow that have been used for hundreds of years across multiple cultures. Whether used for hunting or sport, monitoring the condition of your bow string is crucial for maintaining accuracy and consistency. If your string is broken or worn, this guide will show you how to replace your bow string on a Fleetwood Monarch 62" recurve bow, without the use of any tools. This option will save you money since it doesn't require tools or the purchase of a new bow.
This procedure requires a bit of physical strength, but can be done using the right leverage.
Precautions must be taken when removing the string and restringing your bow due to the amount of tension created. Make sure the bow is not facing you and that your hands are clear of the bow string when replacing the bow string.
Safety glasses are recommended.
