Introduction

While the earbud battery is classified as a LIR1054 3.6V rechargeable lithium-ion battery, it's a different shape than similar batteries you can source at a store. You can buy them from Fairphone here.

    • Use your fingers or tweezers to pull the silicone ring off its groove in the earbud.

    • If you're reusing the silicone ring, don't stretch it too far or it won't fit snug in its groove.

    • Remove the silicone ring.

    • During reassembly, align the tab on the silicone ring with the notch on the earbud to ensure the ring fits snug.

I wish a company would make some non-ANC airpod type headphones that use standard hearing aid batteries i can buy at the grocery store.
