Introduction
Use this guide to remove or replace the main shaft assembly, which includes the driveshaft, on an Echo Power Pruner 254 cc PPT2620 2019.

Use a T25 Torx screwdriver to loosen (but don't remove) the four screws clamping the chainsaw blade to the upper main pipe.

Remove three T25 Torx screws securing the coupler to the lower main pipe.

Remove the thumb screw securing the coupler to the lower main pipe.

Pull the upper main pipe and the coupler away from the lower main pipe until the upper main pipe slides free from the lower main pipe.

Insert a flathead screwdriver or small pry bar into the seam in the coupler near the thumbscrew's location.

Twist the pry bar to create a gap in the seam of the coupler big enough to be able to slide the coupler over the rivet toward the end of the main pipe.

Slide the coupler over the rivet and off of the main pipe.

Remove the coupler from the upper main pipe.

Your new upper driveshaft should come with a black socket on one end. If this isn't the case, install a new inner socket and outer socket on the new driveshaft.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
