Introduction

Use this guide if your Boss RC-1 Loop Station is not turning on (indicated by the red light at the top of the device). This guide will go through taking apart the device to access, remove, and replace the battery.

Disconnect all power sources. Remove any cables connected to the ports (also known as jacks) of the device. Never work on a device that is plugged into a power outlet.

    • Remove the thumb screw at the bottom of the device.

    • Loosening the thumb screw far enough will also allow the pedal to open.

    • When tightening the thumbscrew back in the device, apply force to the pedal first (Do step 1 before step 2).

Conclusion

To check if the batter replacement was successful, plug in a guitar cable into the “Output A” jack. If the red light turns on below the “check” (top of the device), then the looper pedal is working.
