Wyze Cam V2

The Wyze Cam V2 model was released in mid-February of 2018 by Wyze Inc. Wyze started up in the Amazon headquarters where all three founders used to work. Their mission was to create a smart home product that would be mass-adopted and could be affordable for the average consumer. The competitor at the time Wyze was releasing similar products at around $200, so they decided to release their first indoor model at $19.99.

Although the camera was released in mid-February, it was not shipped out till early April due to a hardware defect.

The V2 model was released with newer features such as motion tagging, being programmed with Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant, and a frame rate of 15 fps versus V1's 10 fps.

The Wyze Cam is a small, white-cubed-shaped device. It has a retractable stand underneath the camera. In the middle of the device are the motion sensor, night vision camera, and the main camera. To find the device's model number, you can look underneath the base and locate the white sticker for the manufacturer's specific identification.
