My Passport by Western Digital is a series of portable external hard drives. Western Digital is an American computer hard disk drive manufacturer and data storage company based in San Jose, CA.
There are six series of the My Passport drives: three for PC and three for Mac. They include the Essential Edition, Essential SE Edition, Elite Edition, Essential for Mac, Studio Edition, and the Essential SE for Mac.
The Western Digital My Passport Studio is a USB 3.0 (USB-C) portable storage device with capacities from 320 GB up to 1 TB. The My Passport Studio acts as an external storage device that allows users to expand the storage on their phone, computer, or other devices. It includes password protection with 256-bit AES hardware encryption. The Passport Studio includes Western Digital (WD) Discovery software that allows users to back up important photos, videos, and documents to the hard drive. The software also allows users to import content from popular social media and cloud storage services. The Western Digital Backup software included in WD Discovery allows users to automate their backup routines by setting up a backup schedule.
The My Passport Studio is made from anodized aluminum with a black case and silver edges. It weighs approximately 0.75 pounds. The Studio includes the name “My Passport Studio” in white font on the front of the device.
