Background and Identification

The Wacker Pump model PST2 400 (model number 0620435) is a single-phase electric submersible utility pump. It can handle up to 0.4-inch solids for dewatering of excavations, flooded basements, utility vaults, swimming pools, lakes, manholes, or wherever there is unwanted water. The pump includes a 2-inch motor and an oil-filled cavity that keeps the motor lubricated. Built-in thermal protection prevents damage to the motor due to impeller blockage.

The PST2 400 model includes silicon carbide-face double mechanical seals that run in the oil-filled motor cavity and allow seal lubrication, cooling, and overall motor protection. The pump includes a 20-foot electrical cord and has maximum discharge flow of 3180 gallons per hour. It uses a 0.5-horsepower motor to move water with some submerged solids. PST models feature shaft-mounted agitators which are designed to suspend solids when pumping water containing sand and debris.

The PST2 400 model includes aluminum housing and a threaded male outlet connection. It includes a yellow motor casing and a black float. A black and silver handle is positioned at the top of the pump’s body for carrying and positioning the machine. A black sticker with white font is included on the top of the pump’s yellow body that includes identification information like the machine’s model number.
