Background

The TomTom VIA 1605TM is a global positioning device released in November 2010. It has a six inch touch screen(larger than previous models), and also boasts an improved 800 by 600 pixel resolution. The device can be used to navigate to destinations throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada. It includes advanced lane assistance, and it can help notify of road blocks and construction. The device includes a moderate search to locate the point of interest (POI) along your route. Hardware failure is common when the device is not recognized by the computer after being plugged in. Loss of GPS signal is common with this device as well. This device was replaced by the TOMTOM GO 600.

Identification

It can be identified by its model number which is located under the small panel on the bottom of the device.
