Upgrades
Some of the Sony Cybershot DSC-W5's parts can be upgraded:
- Memory: Sony Cybershot DSC-W5's use memory stick pro duo of which there are many different sizes some as large as 8GB.
Identification and Background
Identification: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W5 can be identified by the 'Cyber-shot' as in the main display picture. This 'Cyber-shot' is located just below and to the right of the lens as you face the lens. Secondly the W5 model can be identified by an etching on the top panel by the power button. This etching reads 'MPEGMOVIE VX DSC-W5'. The DSC-W5 etching is the key to identifying this model.
Background: The W5 is the second in the W series of the Sony Cyber-shot line. The W5 was released in 2005 and is notable for a 5.1 Megapixel resolution and 3x optical zoom at a reasonable price. The Cyber-shot line is known for their Carl Zeiss lenses and the InfoLithium batteries. The W series is unique in their wide angle lenses and special coating.
