Solar Breeze NX Teardown
Background and Identification
The Solar-Breeze NX is a robotic pool cleaner funded by Kickstarter and produced by Solar-Breeze. It is a solar-powered floating pool skimmer. The Solar-Breeze NX is designed to automatically clean pools and remove up to 95% of leaves, pollen, and other debris that float on the surface of the water. The cleaner also removes bacterias, dust, and suntan oils before they sink to the bottom of the pool. The Solar-Breeze NX is meant to clean out organic materials before they can decay and contaminate the entire pool.
The Solar-Breeze NX skims the surface of the pool, filters, and sanitizes pool water. It includes an onboard tray that holds two 3-inch trichlor tablets to enhance the pool water quality as it cleans. This model features a collection area capacity that is almost twice as large as the average in-wall skimmer basket. The Solar-Breeze NX features a motor that advertises a lifespan of around 30,000 hours of use. It can run for up to 23.5 hours when exposed to mid-summer sun.
The Solar-Breeze NX includes a metal plaque with the name “Solar-Breeze” printed in lowercase font next to the letters “NX” printed in orange capital letters. The words “robotic solar pool cleaner” are printed underneath the robot’s name on the plaque.
