Background and Identification
After the wide success of Samsung’s Galaxy series, the the company decided to implement some of those ideas into a camera. The Samsung Galaxy Camera EK-GC110 is the first camera to come with an Android operating system. It has 16.3 megapixels and a 4.8” 720p lcd display. The device was announced in the summer of 2012 and released in November later that year. Stores sold the camera initially for $499 before price drops began.
The camera's internal memory has a max allocation of 8G Bytes of data. The lens zooms to a max of 21x. The video recording feature includes 1080p resolution. The automatic shutter speed is clocked between 1/8 ~ 1/2,00. The camera has a 4.8 inch touch screen.
Multiple models were created for consumer use including a Wi-Fi only version, a data with contract version, and multiple varieties of colors.
The Galaxy Camera has more rounded edges than the Galaxy Camera 2. The lens housing on the original Galaxy Camera is black, where the Galaxy Camera 2 has a silver housing. The Galaxy camera has only the words "Samsung" and "Galaxy" appear on the front camera housing, where the Galaxy Camera 2 also has "21x" on the front of the camera. The model number for the Galaxy Camera begins with "EK-GC1", where the Galaxy Camera 2 model number begins "EK-GC2".
