Background
The FI-21 Gas Indicator is a precision gas analyzer designed and manafactured by Riken Keiki. It is used to measure the percent (%) volume concentration of any of the commonly used gas in a mixture of air or oxygen for solvents, fumigation, gas purity and anaesthetic gas. Riken Keiki is a Japanese manafacturer that offers world-class quality for more than 100 different types of gas detectors and environmental monitoring products, and was established on March 15, 1939. One of the things that sets the FI-21 Gas Indicator apart from competitors is that it automatically makes all calculations and adjustments for range, anesthetic, and conversion factors, providing end-users with quick and accurate information. The FI-21 also has many other advantages such as direct digital readout, selectable anesthetic gas and base gas (air or O2), an electric sample pump, and automatic set up for any or all of the previous models of Riken Gas Indicators, providing more convenience for end-users. The FI-21 Gas Indicator comes in a portable form, making it easily usable in all settings.
Riken Keiki is primarily based in Japan, with 8 overseas branch offices. Thus, the FI-21 Gas Indicator is widely available in several parts of the world. The intended demographic for this product would be medical institutions, such as hospitals or surgical offices, that require a compact and efficient way of analyzing gas mixtures for patients and other medical uses.
Although there are many newer models available for the same purpose, the FI-21 Gas Indicator is still useful for many institutions that require a classic portable gas analyzer with as many compact and outstanding features as the FI-21 Gas Indicator.
Identification
The model number can be found on the front of the device on the bottom left, which is is "FI-21", follow by "Gas Indicator", and the brand logo is displayed distinctly on the bottom right on the front of the device as "Riken Keiki". The dimensions of the device are 20cm x 14.5cm x 8cm (L x W x H), are appear in the shape of a rectangular prism. The device's main color scheme consists of greyish-white and black, with buttons and labels having a sub-color scheme of blue and white. The front of the device contains a LCD screen where concentration, time, battery remainder, measuring gas and base gas are displayed. There is also a data logger interface under the cover on the front of the device. The left side of the tool's housing contains a inlet for testing gases, and the right side has a outlet to release the same aforementioned testing gases into the atmosphere.
