Background

The Responder Model 2R is a brand of Emergency and Transport ventilators manufactured by SIMS pneuPAC, USA. It is ideal for various respiratory emergencies, including resuscitation, CPR ventilation, transport ventilation, electrocution, and drowning. The Responder Model 2R is designed specifically for use by medical personnel and individuals with basic life support skills. It can be used on adults and children.

The Responder Model 2 contains an easy to use single control knob for setting tidal volume and frequency, an audible pressure release valve and a click-stop CPR setting that locks into place to maintain the set rate, ensuring that the rescuer can focus on performing CPR without having to manually regulate the breathing rate of the ventilator.

Identification

The Responder comes encased and housed with anti-shock mountings in a rigid foam plastic casing that usually comes in colour yellow. It has the dimensions of 94H x 254W x 80D mm and a weight of 2.2kg combined with a patient valve and hoses. The model number appears at the top of the device at the position closest to the side containing the control knob.
