Background and Identification

This air cooling fan is intended to cool smaller outdoor areas, such as patios or garages. It is part of the Portacool Cyclone series of fans, which includes 110, 120, 140, and 160 versions. These coolers increase in size and power with their model number. The Cyclone 130 is larger and has a higher air delivery rate than the 110 and 120 models, but is smaller than the 140 and 160 models.

All of the Cyclone series are portable air coolers and can be wheeled around. These coolers are useful whenever air conditioning is impractical or unavailable. They are advertised to be neater than water misters and more effective than traditional fans, which move air around but don’t actually cool it off. Evaporative cooling is the process of taking in heat from the surrounding air and using it to evaporate water. Water takes a great deal of energy to evaporate from liquid to gas, so the machine can take in large amounts of heat energy from the air, effectively cooling off the surrounding area.
